Exhibition Professional Photography Course: Águas pelo Algarve

An exhibition with technique, purpose and awareness

Between the 28th of April and the 11th of May, the Fórum Algarve, in Faro, hosts the exhibition ” Águas pelo Algarve, developed by the graduates of the technical course of Professional Photography 23|25 by ETIC_Algarve.

This project was born in the context of the project module, with the guidance of the trainer José Carlos Carvalho, and represents the culmination of several technical and creative skills worked on throughout the course. Each image is a proof of what it means to be trained in an environment that stimulates critical vision, aesthetic sensitivity and technical ability.

Water in the Algarve: beauty, fragility and recent memory

This exhibition gains even more relevance in a regional context marked by the recent extreme drought that affected the Algarve. Despite the current stabilization, the memory of the difficulties experienced by farmers, communities and ecosystems remains present.

In this sense, “Águas pelo Algarve ” proposes not only an artistic reading of water, but also a visual alert to its importance and preservation.
Through art, ETIC_Algarve graduates reinforce the need to save this vital resource, even in periods of apparent abundance.

One exhibition, one course, several creative visions

The exhibition of the Professional Photography Course brings together the works of six graduates who explored, through the lens, the theme water in all its dimensions.

From imposing natural landscapes, to studio compositions, to the symbolic representation of water on golf courses, each photograph reveals a unique perspective on this essential element, while also highlighting the artistic maturity achieved throughout training.

A reflection of ETIC_Algarve’s practical training

ETIC_Algarve’s Professional Photography Course stands out for integrating real projects and creative challenges from the first year. The exhibition “Águas pelo Algarve ” is an example of this: a practical exercise that materializes what has been learned in lighting techniques, composition, editing and artistic direction.

This approach, combined with the close orientation of the trainers, allows each trainee to develop their portfolio and visual identity. More than an exhibition, this is an important milestone in the journey of each one.

José Carlos Carvalho: an experienced look behind the process

The orientation of this project was in charge of José Carlos Carvalho, trainer of the Professional Photography course of ETIC_Algarve, whose professional career is a true testimony of excellence in national photojournalism.

He currentlyworks at Visão magazine, and continues to collaborate with publications such as Expresso. His extensive experience in the field and in editing is reflected in the way he guides the trainees, encouraging not only the refined technique, but also the narrative and aesthetic awareness of the image.

The ETIC_Algarve effect in the life of graduates

This exhibition does not only show photographs. It shows transformation. Each image tells the story of a look that has matured, of a talent that has gained direction. It is the reflection of the ETIC_Algarve Effect: the ability to transform curious young people into professionals with vision, technique and purpose.
