Film and TV Production Course: Short Film É-me Indiferente at the Los Angeles Film Festival

Short film É-me Indiferente (I Don’t Care), directed by Sofia Bilanyuk, a graduate of ETIC_Algarve, selected for the Los Angeles Movie and Music Awards.
The short film É-me Indiferente, directed by Sofia Bilanyuk, a graduate of the Technical Course in Film and TV Production at ETIC_Algarve, has achieved an important milestone: it has been selected for screening at the Los Angeles Movie and Music Awards, an international festival that celebrates unique narratives and innovative visual languages.
What makes this achievement even more special is the fact that the short film was developed as a project within the Audiovisual Project module, the last module of the first year of the course, before the students move on to the second year. In other words, even at an early stage of their training, Sofia and the production and technical team members, who were her classmates, managed to create a work of sufficient quality to be recognized on the international stage.
This film festival is known for promoting creative and diverse projects, providing a stage for productions that explore new forms of artistic expression. The inclusion of É-me Indiferente in the program confirms the talent and originality of ETIC_Algarve graduates, who transform ideas into films with global impact.
A story of identity, sacrifice, and love
The narrative of the short film focuses on Andriy, a young Ukrainian man about to become a father. While painting a crib in the backyard, preparing for the baby’s arrival, he is surprised by a visit from a military officer who hands him a draft notice.
Torn between the instinct to flee and his patriotic duty, Andriy is forced to confront the harsh reality of war. A poster of the poet Taras Shevchenko, an icon of Ukrainian resistance, awakens memories and deep feelings of identity, anger, and sacrifice.
From ETIC_Algarve: To the world
